Anti-anxiety effects of CBD

  • by

Many folks take CBD for anxiety and wonder what are the anti-anxiety effects of CBD? A newly published paper in the Journal of Clinical Medical Research (doi: https://www.jocmr.org/index.php/JOCMR/article/view/4090) adds more positive evidence for this use. In this review article, not only is there good news on the anxiety front, but also supports CBD use for psychosis and substance abuse disorders:

From the controlled trials, we identified anxiolytic effects with acute CBD administration, and therapeutic effects for social anxiety disorder, psychotic disorder and substance use disorders.”

The authors go on to state:

There was evidence to support single dose positive effect on social anxiety disorder, short medium-term effects on symptomatic improvement in schizophrenia and lack of effect in the short medium-term on cognitive functioning in psychotic disorders. Overall, the administration was well tolerated with mild side effects.”

This is an excellent review article, and I recommend it to everyone.

As the data rolls in, the effectiveness of CBD for many disparate disorders is being confirmed. It is great to see the properties of anti-anxiety effects of CBD.
